Naruto: Shippuuden is an anime series from Japan that picks up three years after it's companion series, Naruto, left off. As some may have gathered from above Shippuuden is a Japanese word that roughly translates to "The Hurricane Chronicles". Continuing the main story from the original series, this is the story of Naruto Uzumaki and his never ending quest to return his best friend and surrogate brother Sasuke Uchiha from his outcast status as a rogue ninja, while trying to tame the Demon fox that is housed within him and protect his village and friends from the threat of the Akatsuki. Even though this is a continuation of another series, it has managed to leave behind many of the more immature tones that held the previous series back from being a classic. By putting away its toys and growing up this series has become one of the most intriguing series that I have seen in a long time.
Thought the main Character is Naruto he is by no means the complete focus of the series. This is an expansive anime that has dozens of intriguing and original characters. From the rich tapestry of history that has been carefully laid out by the creator, to the almost completely endearing ensemble characters it is not hard to see how this anime has become a juggernaut in its own right.
Naruto, and Naruto: Shippuuden is not only one of the most watched anime's in the world but also an extremely successful manga that has been translated into more than fifteen languages in forty counties. Now the second longest running on going prime time anime series of all time, with a catalogue of over three hundred combined episodes and two full length feature films, Naruto has managed to come very close to the current champion and beloved series Dragonball, which with all three series combined has over five hundred episodes and twenty movies. These are impressive stats and the series shows little sign that it intends to wrap it up any time soon, only time will tell if it will be able to take that number one spot.
With credentials like these there is no doubt in anyone's mind that this is an anime destine to be considered a classic by almost all critics, and will no doubt be enjoyed by many generations to come.
So with that enough fan-boy gushing from me, this show doesn't need any help to sell itself, the material is far and away the best thing going right now. Please take the time to peruse my fan site and definitely take the time to sit down and enjoy one of the best anime's ever created.
So without further ado.....
ENJOY THE SHOW!!!!!
