Episodes 1-32: Save the Sand

In the inaugural chapter of the series, Naruto returns from three years of training under his master Jiraiya to find the village much as it was when he left.

As is the case most of the time though there is no time to relax as the Village Hidden in the Sand is attacked by the Akatsuki who have taken their now Kazekage and leader Gaara captive in an attempt to take the One-Tailed demon from his body.

The Hidden Sand Village sends for help from the Hidden Leaf and the newly reformed team Kakashi is sent to aid them.

The team arrives just in time for Sakura to save Gaara's brother Kankuro from a deadly poison and the team heads out in search of Gaara and the Akatsuki with the help of Gaara's Grandmother.

Meanwhile the Akatsuki have drawn the demon out of Gaara and left him a lifeless shell. The team arrives just barely to late and are instantly drawn into a battle with Deidara and Sasori from the Akatsuki. Deidara draws out Kakashi and Naruto, while sakura and Gaara's Grandmother stay and fight Sasori. The fight with Sasori is long and difficult but in the end Sakura is able to defeat him. Meanwhile Deidara s fight with Kakashi and Naruto escalates till Kakashi unleashes his Mangekyou Sharingun. Deidara isn't defeated till Naruto unleashes his demon but deidara narrowly escapes.

The team finds Gaara's discarded shell and is speechless till his grandmother gives her own life force to replenish his. With everything as back to normal as possible everyone returns to their villages.

 

Episodes 33-53: The Return of Sasuke

The second chapter begins with Kakashi laid up in the hospital because of his over use of the Sharingun, because of this Yamoto and Sai are added to the team.

The team is told that Orochimara has been found and are dispatched to find out where his base is and if Sasuke is with him. The team sets out with a vigor but Naruto and Sakura have a hard time adjusting to Sai and his behavior.

Soon they are tested as a team when confronted by Kabuto and Orochimaru on a bridge. Kabuto is almost instantly taken out by Naruto who because of all the emotions it brings up from seeing Orochimaru is turning into his demon fox form.

Naruto and Orochimaru fight all out and it seems that Naruto will gain the upper hand but right when he is about to deliver the killing blow Yamoto and Sakura stop him but Sakura is injured by Naruto. Naruto awakens hours later unaware of what happened but is informed by Yamoto, Naruto then vows to never use his demon fox powers again.

The team then tracks Orochimaru to his hide out. As they arrive Sai turns on the team and attempts to join Orochimaru. We then find out that Sai was sent along to try and assassinate Sasuke but Sasuke proves to be to much for Sai to handle and blows up the hideout to get away from Sai.

Sakura and Naruto then lay eyes on Sasuke for the first time in many many years. Sasuke though is not as happy to see the two of them and attacks. Naruto is frozen by shock and Yamoto and Sakura are barely able to repel Sasuke before he, Orochimaru and Kabuto retreat.

Afterwards Sai comes clean about his motivations and promises only to help the team recover Sasuke from that point forward.

 

Episodes 54-71: The 2nd Kyuubi

In the third chapter we are introduced to Sora, a young ninja from the fire country who as we find out has had a similar life to Naruto's. Having been shunned from an early age by the rest of the village Sora has also gone out of his way to prove himself.

Soon a plot to destroy the Leaf village unravels as the three of the twelve former Guardian Ninja are resurrected and attack Asuma and the village threatening to burn it to the ground. We quickly learn that they are being controlled by another former member and Sora's father to gain revenge on Asuma for betraying him to the rest of the twelve guardian ninja.

As the battle escalates we also learn that Sora and Naruto have more in common than originally thought. It seems that much like Naruto, Sora also has a demon bonded to him but the difference is that it is residual energy that bled off Naruto the day that the demon fox was sealed within him.

Naruto realizing this tries to talk some sense into Sora who is transforming into the demon Kyuubi. Unable to reach him Naruto is forced to knock him unconscious and Naruto draws the remainder of the demon power off of Sora.

With the village saved Sora and Naruto vow to remain friends and everything returns to normal.....for now.

 

Episodes 72-88: Akatsuki Attack

In the forth and probably most emotional chapter, Asuma and his team are confronted by the two Akatsuki members Hidan and Kakuza. All seems in hand till it is discovered that Hidan is an immortal and he quickly kills Asuma in front of Shikamaru.

The Akatsuki members flee and leave the rest of Asuma's team but Shikamaru is unable to let things go so he returns Asuma's body to the Leaf village reforms his old team with Choji and Ino and sets out to take down Kakuza and Hidan.

Startled by this revelation Tsunade insists that Shikamaru take kakashi along for backup and the new team heads out. They soon meet up with Hidan and Kakuza, Shikamaru leads Hidan away while Kakashi battles Kakuza.

Shikamaru is able to take care of Hidan but Kakuza proves to be to much for Kakashi, Choji and Ino, but just as things seem there darkest Naruto, Sakura and Yamoto arrive to save them. Naruto insists on facing Kakuza by himself and kills him with one blow from his new special technique the Rasenshuriken.

 

Episodes 89-Current: The Gathering Storm

In the most recent chapter we find that Orochimaru is trying to gain control of the three tailed demon by using the talents of a young boy and an unknown ninja Guren.

Teams Kakashi, Guy and Kurenai are dispatched to deal with the growing threat but will they be able to make the difference? only time will tell.
